Emmanuel sponsors a Missionary in India.
Today (17 June 2007), our congregation, officially begins its sponsorship of our first missionary, Amitrao, (Gospel for Asia). He is currently serving the Lord in India, where the majority are Hindus. As an evangelist, he is involved in house visitation, personal evangelism and Gospel-track distribution to win souls for the kingdom of God. He is also involved in church-planting work.
May we uphold Amitrao in our prayers each week that he may fulfil God’s plan to expand His kingdom. There are about 6 people in our congregation also sponsoring missionaries as individuals which is great to see. A number of people from Pastor Bill Hollingsworth's congregation in Gordonvale, are also involved in sponsoring missionaries through Gospel for Asia. We hope and pray that others may also prayerfully consider sponsoring a Missionary through Gospel for Asia www.gfa.org Below is more information about our missionary.
Name: Amitrao
Marital Status: Single
Date of Birth: June 1, 1984 (23 years old)
I was born into a Hindu family in India. One day, some servants of God came home to share the Gospel with us. My father, an orthodox Hindu, angrily sent them away.
One day I became sick. The medications that I underwent could not heal me. It was then that someone told my father to invite a pastor to pray for me. Having no other way, he requested a pastor to pray for me. The man of God laid his hands on me and asked Jesus to heal me. The Lord answered his prayer, and I was healed. The Biblical truths that we learned helped us to understand that Jesus is the only God. Before long, we acknowledged Jesus as our personal Saviour.
I grew spiritually by spending more time in prayer. During this time, my mother became sick. I vowed to God that I would serve Him if He healed her. The Almighty honoured my commitment, and she was healed. Tarrying in the Lord’s presence, I was confirmed of His call. Soon, I joined a GFA Bible school. |
